BREAKING THE TABOO

It is a vast number of countries in the world where inequality of gender still exists and has been existing from ages. This is one of the social issues we find strenuous to eradicate. Although many movements, protests and efforts have been made since evolving times but they're still not enough. Nothing changes unless mindset changes. The all social issues which we are cooked up with, are created by people itself. What they used to think is what they implemented within their reach without imagining the consequences.
There were many restrictions for women before 19th century -women's rights movement and 20th century -Feminist movement. Till then, women has faced literal hell that we can't even imagine of. Many vibrant efforts took place and paved ways for women to live happily and free. Women started to get heard, to listen to, to put forward their ideas. The times changed, indeed.
This is 21st century and the world has drastically progressed by now. We've achieved accolades for every invention or change possible and forthcoming.  Women are independent and so as men are. Women  are safer than before and so as men are. Ummmmm... Are they? 👀  The time has changed for sure but has somehow upturned itself. Women are still not safe when step out of their homes and so is for men. This is what has been neglected just because of the mere focus on "Crimes against women" . Men have been always considered strong, boys are always taught to not to cry and have always been asked to suppress what they feel. Is it right? They're humans too. My above statements must have made you think that I'm not a feminist. Let's see that.

Ever heard of "Bacha Bazi" ? It means boy play and is a wide variety of activities involving sexual relations between younger adolescent men or boys, who are called dancing boys, and older men. It is practiced the most in Afghanistan and Pakistan (Read more at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacha_bazi ) . I've watched a number of documentaries and have felt worst thinking that everyone around the world is fighting for fundamental women's right whereas, these young boys keep agonizing. Not everyone is with them. Not everyone puts the spotlight on their plight. And who does, they are not heard or made hidden. Violence against men (VAM) consists of violent acts that are disproportionately or exclusively committed against men. Men are over represented as both victims and perpetrators of violence. Sexual violence against men is treated differently in any given society from that committed against women, and may be unrecognized by international law. Not males are also safe outside their homes. I'm not at all supporting criminals. I'm not with them. But a criminal is a criminal no matter whom he/she made suffer.  I agree that crime rates against women are still higher than crimes against men and Feminism has never been wrong. But thinking about one gender only where the other suffers, is injustice. The pain might not be the same but it is endured by both. Also, I'm a girl and I'm not a feminist. Rather, I'm someone who believes in equality and perhaps justice.
